A Day NOT @ the Races...
On Sunday, we went to church before having a picnic lunch at the park downtown.
We also went and saw the old fort. While there, a gardener talked to us about what it took to feed the armies that once occupied the old fort. He also broke some leaves off of one of the plants and asked Alex if she knew what it was. She said she didn't know so he told her to smell it. She (with a little help) figured out that it was mint. He gave her the leaves and we took it home and made some mint tea. It was good!

We saw some statues at the park. One was of Little Turtle and there were some of the Hamilton Ladies. One of them shares a name with my mom (Alex's grandma). Alex thought it was cool to get her picture sitting on that ladie's lap.

After going to the park, we went to a friend's graduation party. Then we went back to my house and played Skip-bo, UNO, Clue, Connect-Four, Go-Fish, and Old-Maid. This is one thing that Alex and I really enjoy doing...playing games.

A Day @ the Park
Thursday, some friends and I went and had lunch in the park. One of them brought her 8 month old son. This was his first time to the park and all he wanted to do was scoot to the grass and pull it! I guess they could save on gas for their mower this summer by just letting the baby out in the yard for a couple of hours. (Just kidding, Tonya!) We got Subway and ate it while we caught up on each others lives. .jpg)

After lunch, the friends departed and I decided to take more pictures of the park! Some people take pictures of their kids, I take pictures of scenery since I don't yet have any. .jpg)

BBQ, Homeschool, Graduation, & God's Blessings
This weekend was a busy one. It began with a barbeque at the Lillian Rolf house. Some of the girls' parents brought food and a grill. I brought potato salad to add to the mix. We ate, decorated with sidewalk chalk, some of us went for a walk, and we took pictures. All but one of the girls that lived in the house graduated this weekend. .jpg)

One of the underclassmen who wanted to stay for graduation but had to check out of the residence hall on Friday stayed with me last night. I continued the tradition of housing underclassmen the night before graduation!
On Saturday, I represented TUFW at the Fort Wayne Area Homeschool Convention at the Coliseum. I was a bit disappointed that I would have to miss graduation. However, God decided to remind me that He will provide for me even in the small things! (Something, that I really needed right now!) One of the current students came by with her mom and said that she would be willing to help out if I needed/wanted her to. I asked her how serious she was and if she would be there all day. She said yes and when I asked her if she was going to graduation, she said no. She covered the last 70 minutes of the convention for me and brought the display material back to TUFW for me! I basically only missed the graduates walking into graduation! I really wanted to be at this graduation; this was the class that I seemed to connect with more than any of the other classes since I have worked here. I did get pictures with a lot of the students....jpg)

The male graduate in this picture always told me that he was my favorite homeschooler. While I don't really have a favorite, I always joked back with him that he was not my favorite, but the girl in the picture was my favorite homeschooler.
